A True Golf Club Experience

The Banyan Creek GC Story

A Golfer’s Sanctuary

A Message from Banyan Creek Golf Club Owner, Brian Wenrick

Sometimes golfers play a golf course they enjoy so much, they decide to call it their home course. Creating and belonging to my own special and unique golf club has always been a lifelong vision.

Banyan Creek, originally known as Crane Creek, first opened in the 1970’s. Designed by Arthur Young and Charles Ankrom, it was one of the best layouts in the area. It had all the makings that kept golfers and professionals coming back for more. The course hosted U.S. Open Qualifying and PGA Tour Qualifying School events. Despite all this success, Crane Creek closed in the early 2000’s and became dormant until I purchased it in 2012.

In 2014, we started the renovation, while keeping the original routing of Crane Creek. We added multiple sets of tees for all skill levels, added additional yardage, and built unique grass plant waste areas. A majestic Banyan tree overlooking the 1st Tee and 18th Green inspired the new name “Banyan Creek Golf Club”.

My vision for Banyan Creek is being accomplished. It’s a private golf club that is dedicated to its members. As we move forward, I see daily progress on the final finishing touches as the newly grown grass starts to mature. The greens will continue to gain speed and the bunkers will shine as attention to details will continue.

Continuous improvement will always be our goal. I see not just a clubhouse, but a warm and welcoming place to gather and share our stories and experiences. Banyan Creek will be a destination for quality golf and a home for all of us. Please join me in completing my vision.
